What is a Testimonial?
A Testimonial is anytime you share a story about you or someone else.
A Testimonial is anytime you share your story about their results or success from your course.
A Testimonial is anytime you share someone else's story about their results or success from your course.
A Testimonial is anytime you share someone's words about why you can be trusted or what you teach works.
A Testimonial is any time you make a claim about specific results that a person can potentially get if they take your course.
What is required to be able to share a Testimonial?
The claim/story shared has to be true and accurate
AND
You need to have documentation to prove that the claims/stories are true.
(We will not ask you for a copy of documentation, but if you don't have it, you can not make the claim or share the Testimonial.)
AND
The results shared in the Testimonial/claim must be typical for the average person taking your course.
(For example you can not share the unique story of someone who made $2,000 in their first hour)
AND
You have written permission from the person to use their words/Testimonial to market your course or yourself.
AND
You MUST include a disclosure that is proximate to any claim/Testimonial. This means that customers have to be able to see the disclosure while the claim is being made. (Mastermind has added a specific section for disclosures in your course description for the directory. Please select "Edit Details" for your mastermind to add the language to this specific section.)
SAMPLE DISCLOSURE
Mandatory Disclosure Language-
This is the minimum language that should be included in any disclosure where a testimonial is shared.
"The depicted experience is not typical. Your background, education, experience, work ethic may differ. This is used as an example and not a guarantee of success. Individuals do not track the typicality of its student's experiences. Your results may vary."

A Note on Health Based Course Disclaimers
If you have a medical or heath based course please also add a medical disclaimer to the end of your course description.
This is separate from the mandatory testimonial disclosure. The two are not interchangeable. You need to have BOTH if you have a course that discusses physical/mental health, medical subjects, weight, mindset, etc.
We recommend the following language.

Substantiation of Your Mastermind Course content is a prerequisite of using such material in Your Mastermind Course. Even with substantiation you should avoid using testimonials that create an impression of typicality when they really represent the rare occasional member experience.
